THE INITIATIVE
The Global Forest Summit is...
a civil-society led initiative: co-founded by Reforest'Action and the Open Diplomacy Institute, the Summit is not a diplomatic conference.
a sustainable project: launched in 2021 under the High Patronage of President Emmanuel Macron, the Summit will be co-organized by Reforest'Action and the Open Diplomacy Institute every year until 2030 to keep under scrutiny major pledges and achievements for forests.
a multi-stakeholder platform: the Summit brings all game-changing actors which can ensure bold ambitions for forests and fast delivery of pledges.
an action-boosting hub: the Summit is a knowledge-driven event to share best practices and gain momentum to achieve the UN Global Forest Goals and the objectives of the 2014 New York Declaration on Forests.
a wide-encompassing approach: the GFS looks at all issues, ranging from forest protection, to restoration and sustainable management as well as financials means to deliver all these ambitions.
Co-founded by

Reforest'Action is a B Corp certified company whose mission is to preserve and restore the world's forests in response to the twin crisis of climate and biodiversity.
The Open Diplomacy Institute is a French think-tank working on global governance of sustainability. It aims at accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
